WGC Vintage Fest Dance Camp 2024

Classes will take place inside the college and other studios within the town centre so that socials, workshops and everything at the WGC Vintage Festival will be no more than 2 – 5mins walk away!

LEVELS:

Improver You have started taking beginner classes over the past few months and you have learnt some of the basic steps. It’s time to build your confidence and have your first taste of an international festival!

Intermediate You’ve got the core basics under your belt such as The Swing Out, Lindy Turn, Lindy Circle & Charleston and you are confident social dancing these regularly. It’s time to have some fun taking your dancing to the next level!

Intermediate/Advanced You have been regularly taking classes and workshops, perhaps at dance camps and you feel comfortable social dancing. As well as core Lindy Hop, you have some experience of solo Jazz and are ready to up your game in technique & styling!

Advanced: As the highest level in the camp, you’ll likely have years experience of taking or teaching workshops internationally, able to pick up quickly with a good understanding of  lead/follow techniques and easily integrate jazz into any move.

NB: Those who have booked for the advanced level will need to audition at 7:00pm on Friday evening to confirm a place in this level.

Solo Jazz: This track is for those with prior solo jazz experience, who know routines such as the Shim Sham, JiveSwing Stroll or Tranky Doo etc or possibly Tap. Experience of other solo dances may also help. If in doubt, send us an email prior to booking

EVENING SOCIAL DANCES:
Main Hall, Oaklands College, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 @8pm – 2:00am
Friday – Welcome Party
Saturday – JiveSwing Vintage Ball
Sunday – Farewell Party

All 3 evenings are held in the main hall, with live music, bar and nice wooden floors.

Competitions will take place on Sunday evening, we will have both Mix & Match  and Solo Jazz competitions.

Full Weekend Pass (All Classes & Evening Social Dancing):
Early Bird Rate is £149.99 before 15th December, £169.99 until 15th January 2024, £189.99 until 30th January, £199.99 until 30th February 2024, then £249.99 until 19th June in tickets remain.

The location will be filled with vendors, but surrounded by lots of classic restaurants, all within 5 mins walk.

There will be limited stock of T-Shirts on the weekend so why not order yours in advance to guarantee your size and the colour you want.
T-shirts are available in 2 styles and 2 colours and can be purchased in advance for £12.99 or £15.00 on the weekend, subject to availability.
