Qing took her first Jiveswing class in 2013, and has been smiling about it ever since. As a dancer, she’s passionate about expressing herself through music, as well as maintaining a sense of authenticity rooted in the history of Jazz and Swing music and dance. An avid musician since the age of 5, her approach to musicality and rhythm is shaped by her experience in musical instruments, composing, singing, and musical theatre. Outside of dance, Qing works in software engineering, and she brings a systematic, analytical approach to her teaching too. She’s always keen to work out why something works (or doesn’t).
Qing is a member of the Jiveswing Hoppers troupe. She regularly competes and performs both nationally and internationally. Her TV & theatre performances include Further Back in Time for Dinner (BBC), Alan Carr’s Grease Night (C4), Jive Aces “Jump Jive & Wail” tour, and TanJazz Festival Morocco. Her competition credits include Finalist in London Throwdown Rising Star J&J (2017) and 1st place in JatS 30s Showcase (2018). Her regular class is Jiveswing Enfield – come visit on a Tuesday!
